If you create a Landing Page using Beaver Builder when using the Aspire Pro theme, and you have a header, then Aspire Pro will add a white stripe or gap of height 100px beneath the header and above the Beaver Builder content. If the background color of the top section is white then this is probably not an issue however if you have a background image or video or simply a different background color at the top of your content then the extra white margin is unwanted.
In my demo site for Aspire I had no header so the extra margin is removed by Dambuster.
The extra white space is a result of the Aspire themes style.css which adds the unwanted top margin as follows:
The theme has been designed to introduce a white margin on the top of pages other than the home page.
What the previous version of Dambuster did was set the margin-top to zero for all themes however this had the undesirable side-effect on fixed header themes of making the content move upwards and possibly under the fixed header. So I removed the overriding of the top margin in this latest release so Genesis Dambuster just sets the left and right margins when you want to go full width, and let’s the theme decide about top and bottom margins. This approach works well on all themes that introduce a margin to push the content down and past the fixed header.
However Aspire Pro is adding 170px margin-top on site-inner to achieve TWO things
- push the content down below the fixed header – this requires a margin-top of 75px
- add a 100px margin to the top of the site-inner
The second part could also have been achieved using padding-top: 100px. If this approach had been adopted then Genesis Dambuster would have automatically removed the padding.
However it did not so we have a small workaround for Aspire Pro – for instructions see our Beaver Builder Genesis Blueprint
